The Pittsburgh Steelers are in need of a new offensive coordinator this offseason and appear to be casting a wide net in finding their man. Will that net reel in former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury?
Appearing on The Cook & Joe Show, NFL insider Peter King was asked if Kingsbury is a candidate for the job. King said that he was intrigued by the idea and seemed to suggest that the Steelers play on talking to him – though he stopped short of making that an official report.
“Right now, he’s talked to the Bears and he’s gonna talk to the Steelers – interesting places,” King said, via Steelers Depot. “The Bears are a running team. The Steelers are a running team… I’ll tell you this: If he gets one of these jobs, I guarantee you that team will be a running team.”
King pointed out that Kingsbury is dedicated to using the run to set up the pass in spite what others may think of him. So it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he would be a good fit in Pittsburgh – a city whose dedication to running the ball dates back to the 70s.

The more pressing question for the Steelers might wind up being who will be the quarterback rather than who will be calling plays next year.
Steelers fans certainly seem to have soured on quarterback Kenny Pickett just two seasons after making him a first-round pick.
Which is a bigger priority for the Steelers: Finding a new quarterback, or finding the perfect offensive coordinator?
