Rondale Moore enters his second season in the NFL looking for a boost in snaps and touches. A second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Moore received limited opportunities in his rookie season, mainly as a gadget player and returner. With the departures of Christian Kirk and Chase Edmonds, Rondale Moore looks to take over the slot position and see a boost in production. Deandre Hopkins is serving a six-game suspension for performing enhancing drugs wich will also help Rondale Moore’s fantasy football outlook for 2022.
2022 Fantasy Football Outlook: Rondale Moore
2021 Recap
Rondale Moore had a very inconsistent rookie season. He was mainly used as a kick/punt returner and a gadget player on offense. Most of his touches were around the line of scrimmage. He had the lowest depth of target in the league last year.
Lowest aDOT among wide receivers in 2021, per PFF:
5. Jamison Crowder, 6.3
4. Laviska Shenault, 5.7
3. Cole Beasley, 5.6
2. Braxton Berrios, 4.9

That will need to change in order for him to be a factor in fantasy. Moore has never seen a consistent stretch of games, he averaged 4.5 targets per game to go along with 109.1 PPR points on the season. In games where Moore received at least five targets, he averaged almost 15 PPR points per game. He shouldn’t have a problem crossing five targets per game with the departure of Christian Kirk.
2022 Fantasy Outlook
Rondale Moore enters this season as one of the breakout candidates that many are hoping for. Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury sees the strides that Moore has taken this offseason.

Moore will take over the slot position and also see more touches out of the backfield in the form of jet sweeps and hand-offs. The Cardinals traded for Marquise Brown during the 2022 NFL Draft. He is the projected target leader to begin the season but Moore has a chance to compete with him for the lead. Brown was recently arrested and charged with criminal speeding.

It is too early to know if and/or when he will be suspended but it can possibly be a positive for Moore. Rondale Moore being placed in the slot position will allow him to keep consistent snaps for the season. When Deandre Hopkins returns from his suspension, it will allow Moore to be the third option in the passing game. Last season as the primary slot receiver, Christian Kirk finished as WR26. That is without the assumed touches that Moore will get in the running game and kick/punt returns. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has been, on average, a top-six fantasy quarterback during his three seasons in the NFL. In 2021, the Cardinals had three wide receivers finish in the top 45 last season. That leaves Rondale Moore in a prime position to crush his ADP for this season.
ADP
According to fantasypros, Rondale Moore fantasy football managers can draft him as WR68 in the 14th round. Landing a starting receiver in the 14th round is a steal and one worth taking in every league. Some of the wide receivers going before Moore are Christian Watson and Julio Jones. Watson is a rookie who has yet to practice and Jones needs to prove he can stay healthy at this point in his career. Using a late pick to take Moore as a bench receiver with high upside will pay off by season’s end.
