Marvin Harrison Jr. did not have the dominant rookie season for the Arizona Cardinals many believed he would. It wasn’t a bad year, but it wasn’t anywhere near some of the best seasons last year by rookie receivers.
He finished the season with 62 receptions for 885 yards and eight touchdowns.
But most believe he will be great.
However, Seattle Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon had something interesting to say about Harrison.
Witherspoon and receiver teammate Jaxon Smith-Njigba had an interview with NBC Sports’ Chris Simms and Mike Florio, and Witherspoon talked about guarding different receivers in the NFL.
When he talked about Harrison, he said, “I don’t think he’s that hard to guard because he’s a bigger receiver.”
Witherspoon said that littler guys who move quickly and create separation at the line of scrimmage are more challenging for him. But he did note what makes Harrison frustrating.
“He contested catches, though,” he said. “Even when you’re close and guarding him pretty well, he can make contested catches. That’s what frustrates you about him.”
Bulletin board material? Maybe.
But what’s funny his how Smith-Njigba reacted to Witherspoon saying that. Harrison was his teammate at Ohio State.
Check out the look he gives Witherspoon when he started talking about Harrison.

Harrison will have the opportunity to face Witherspoon at least twice next season. We will see how things go then.
