Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals have traded LB Cam Thomas to the Chiefs on Monday for a seventh-round pick.
Thomas was clearly lower on the Cardinals’ depth chart this summer, so it makes sense for Arizona to try to recoup something in return for him and allow him to have a fresh start elsewhere.
Thomas, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals out of San Diego State back in 2022. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $5,144,340 contract that included $921,336 guaranteed.
In 2023, Thomas appeared in 15 games for the Cardinals and recorded 22 tackles, a fumble recovery, no sacks and a defensive touchdown.
