With the 2025 NFL Draft now 17 days from today, my instinct is telling me that Cardinals’ GM Monti Ossenfort would be eager to trade down from pick #16, that is especially if he can get a 1st round and a 2nd round pick in exchange.
The fact that he has been stockpiling Top 30 visits with an surplus of edge rushers could indicate that Monti wants to move down as long as he is able to tab one of his top EDs in Round 1.

Which has me thinking that if one of these four players —- Kenneth Grant, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Jalon Walker or Mykal Williams —-is still on the board at the Cardinals’ #16 pick, Howie Roseman would be on a “red-line” speed dial to the Cardinals’ headquarters with some kind of package resembling this:
Eagles get:
- #16.
Cardinals get:
- #32,
- #64,
- #164,
- Eagles’ 2026 3rd round pick
So, after I completed this trade on the PFF Mock Simulator:
- “With the #16 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, from Boston College.
- Then, sure enough one of the Cardinals’ Top 30 visitors was on the board at #32.
- “With the 32nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft the Arizona cardinals select Nic Scourton, Edge from Texas A&M.
- Here are the Day 1 and Day 2 selections that I could most imagine Monti making:

- Here are the selections I would make given the board and my #1 goal to get stronger up the middle on defense:

I know Sun Devil and others are very keen on the Cardinals trading down. It would be interesting to see his mock and yours in this trade scenario.
