Proposing to your significant other in a grandiose, public way is almost never a good idea. A recent video from a minor league baseball game shows why.
Video of a man’s proposal at a minor league baseball game in Massachusetts has gone viral on social media – but not for any good reasons.
The man appeared to propose to his girlfriend atop the dugout at a Worcester Red Sox game last week. The proposal did not go well, though.
The young woman instantly leaves the dugout as she appears to apologize to those around her. The man is left stunned atop the dugout.
While some might believe this was a setup by the minor league team, the New York Post has details that suggest otherwise:
But a source with knowledge of the incident told The Post the proposal was planned and that family members of the couple were in the crowd — one sign that it was real-life romantic fumble.
“It was definitely not a stunt in any way by the club—and every indication from those involved was that it was sincere,” said Bill Wanless, Vice President of Communications for the Worcester Red Sox. “But we haven’t heard anything from the parties involved.”
Don’t propose unless you know what the answer is going to be, everyone.
