As its 2024 season soured, Arizona saw a few of its commitments for the upcoming recruiting class back off their pledges and land at another school. But on the eve of the Early Signing Period, it’s the other way around.
The Wildcats have landed a commitment from 3-star Texas safety Kason Brown, who had previously committed to Texas State. Brown flipped after taking an official visit to Tucson last weekend.
After much thought and consideration I have decided to flip my commitment to the University of Arizona‼️ ⬇️ #BearDown @ArizonaFBall @CoachBrennan @247Sports pic.twitter.com/8nvBpgllGY

he 6-foot-4, 190-pound Brown is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1,801 player in the 2025 recruiting class, as well as the 151st-best safety in the country and the No. 264 prospect in Texas. His other FBS offers were from New Mexico, Tulsa and UTEP.
From Big Lake, Texas, Brown also plays basketball and runs track for Reagan County High School. He is the seventh commit in the UA’s class from Texas and the fifth defensive back.
Arizona’s 2025 class is back up to 21 known commitments, the last two coming after visiting during the Territorial Cup. On Monday night it got a pledge from 3-star in-state offensive lineman Jaxon Griffin of Mesa.
