The offseason roster overhaul continues, with another change to Brett Brennan’s coaching staff.
Arizona has hired Josh Miller as tight ends coach, reuniting with new offensive coordinator Seth Doege after the two were together last season at Marshall.

iller, who coached tight ends at Marshall in 2024 and was an offensive analyst in 2023 at Purdue alongside Doege, replaces Matt Adkins, who had been the Wildcats’ tight ends coach and passing game coordinator this past season.
Adkins, who came over with Brennan from San Jose State, had also served as Arizona’s primary offensive play caller over the final nine games in 2024 after taking that role from offensive coordinator Dino Babers.
At Marshall, Miller oversaw a tight end group that included sophomore Toby Payne, who had six touchdowns among his 17 catches. Arizona’s tight ends in 2024 combined for 36 receptions but only three TDs.
Miller is the third new coach on Arizona’s staff, along with Doege and defensive line coach Joe Salave’a. Other changes include moving Duane Akina back to coaching defensive backs after serving as defensive coordinator in 2024 and elevating Danny Gonzales to DC after he handled special teams and linebackers last season. A few analyst positions have also changed.
The UA is still looking for a special teams coordinator ahead of spring practice, which is expected to begin in mid-March.
