The 6-foot-6 Australian started 28 of 37 games for Arizona this season, averaging 7.2, 1.4 assists and 1.4 rebounds. The former Campbell transfer shot 45 percent from the floor including a career-best 41.3 percent from 3-point range.
Dell’Orso played one his best games in Arizona’s’ NCAA Tournament win over Oregon in the Round of 32. He scored 12 points against the Ducks on a pair of 3-pointers and four free throws.
Dell’Orso becomes the second Arizona player to announce his return next season, following Tobe Awaka’s announcement last week.
Dell’Orso’s return shores up Arizona’s backcourt for the upcoming season. Assuming Jaden Bradley comes back, the Wildcats will have Bradley and Harvard transfer Evan Nelson at the 1, and freshman Brayden Burries and Dell’Orso at the 2.
