The Big 12 Conference announced that three gymnastics meets will appear on linear TV this season. The Arizona GymCats will be one of the teams featured.
Arizona will appear on ESPN2 when they go to Arizona State on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 at 2 p.m. MST. It will be the first Big 12 meet for both teams.
The Gymcats were No. 24 in NQS heading into the postseason. The Sun Devils were No. 22. Both teams advanced to NCAA regionals.
The rivalry meet won’t be the GymCats’ only appearance on television. The team will make its second appearance in the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad on Friday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. MST.
Arizona will face Clemson, NC State, and Michigan at the Collegiate Quad. The meet will be held in Oklahoma City, Okla. and air on the ACC Network.
The GymCats have also released their nonconference schedule, which begins on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m. MST when they head to the Pacific Coast Challenge in Oceanside, Calif. They will take on Southern Utah, Rutgers, and Wilberforce.
The Collegiate Quad follows the next week, then Arizona will finally make its home debut on Jan. 17 against Air Force. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
Big 12 competition gets underway the following week at ASU. The GymCats have four Big 12 meets in a row before they venture outside the conference again.
On Jan. 26, UA goes to Fort Worth, Tex. for the Metroplex Challenge. The quad meet also includes Arkansas, Oregon State, and SEMO.
The GymCats finish up Big 12 competition over the next three weeks, then go to Salt Lake City, Utah for the conference championships on Saturday, Mar. 22. The early session will include three teams and be streamed on ESPN+. The other four teams compete in the evening session, which will be aired on ESPNU.
Before starting the regular season, Arizona will hold its annual showcase. That will take place in McKale Center on Saturday, Dec. 14. The exhibition gives fans the opportunity to preview the team before the season begins.
Arizona released its conference schedule in October.
In addition to Arizona and ASU, the other Big 12 teams that will appear on linear TV are Utah and Denver. Both Utah and Arizona have two appearances prior to the Big 12 championships. ASU and Denver will each appear once.
