Arizona men’s basketball expectedly dropped in the Associated Press Top 25 following its road loss to Wisconsin.
Arizona dropped eight spots in the poll to No. 17. The Wildcats were the biggest faller in the rankings.
Wisconsin, which entered last Friday’s game with Arizona unranked, appeared at No. 19.
Arizona’s highly anticipated matchup against Duke this Friday will no longer be any top 10 teams after the Blue Devils dropped six spots to No. 12 following their loss to Kentucky.
Arizona, at No. 17, has its lowest in-season ranking under Tommy Lloyd since week 3 of the 2021-22 season, when the Wildcats debuted in the AP Top 25 for the first time under Lloyd after opening the season unranked.
Arizona also began the 2022-23 season ranked at No. 17 but quickly ascended to the top 15.
A loss to Duke could conceivably knock Arizona out of the top 25 for the first time since 2021. A win, on the other hand, might propel the Wildcats closer to the top 10.
