If anyone thought Arizona’s move to the Big 12 Conference might lead Tommy Lloyd to lighten up the nonconference schedule, think again.
The Wildcats have announced a home-and-home series with Auburn that will begin next season in Tucson. The UA will host the Tigers, who are currently No. 1 in the country, on Dec. 6, with a return game to Auburn set for the 2026-27 season.

Arizona is already scheduled to face Alabama (in Birmingham) and UCLA (in Las Vegas) next season, and a reported home-and-home series with two-time defending NCAA champion UConn is also in the works.
This season the UA hosted Duke, visited Wisconsin, played UCLA in Phoenix and competed in the Battle4Atlantis before making its Big 12 debut. Arizona isn’t expected to participate in a multi-team event in 2025, and the 2026 trip to the Maui Invitational could be its last time doing a three-games-in-three-days preseason tourney.
Auburn, under 11th-year head coach Bruce Pearl, is 26-2 overall and 14-1 in the SEC. The Tigers have been ranked No. 1 the past seven weeks, the longest streak since Gonzaga was No. 1 for 20 consecutive polls in 2021-22.
Arizona and Auburn last met at the Maui Invitational in 2018, with the Tigers winning by 16. Their only previous meeting came in the 1986 NCAA Tournament, also an Auburn victory.
