Scoggins has been the Wildcats’ starting setter this season, but her performances against Colorado and Houston were some of the best of her short career. The 19 digs in each match were career highs for the freshman.
Scoggins averaged 8.67 assists and 4.22 digs per set in nine sets. The 45 assists she had against Houston were three shy of her career high of 48 set against Alabama during the nonconference season.
She also had three kills, three aces, and two total blocks as Arizona split its two matches. The Wildcats dropped a five-setter against Colorado then defeated Houston in four sets.
It was the setter’s second rookie award this season, marking the first time a Wildcat has taken two conference rookie or freshman of the week awards since Puk Stubbe did it in 2021.
Scoggins and her team next face No. 13 Arizona State on Thursday, Oct. 24 at McKale Center.
