Arizona got two home runs—including an inside-the-park edition by Regan Shockey—in a 11-1 victory over Kansas on Sunday morning.
The game was over quickly. The No. 13 Wildcats run-ruled the Jayhawks in five innings for the second straight day.
Shockey got her first career home run in the second inning when Kansas chose to put the infield shift on and leave right field open. Shockey pulled a ball into the right-field corner. With her speed, she was off to the races and scored easily.

It wasn’t the first time Shockey’s speed and savvy led to runs. Arizona started the game with four runs in the first inning. The second was scored by the Wildcat centerfielder when catcher Sydney Stewart hit a bases-loaded single to left field.
Dakota Kennedy scored easily from third base on Stewart’s hit, but it was a bit tougher for Shockey. The ball beat her to the plate, but she used one of her patented slides around the catcher to get in safely.

Arizona put up five runs in the opening frame, one in the second, four in the fourth, and one in the fifth. Kennedy, Kaiah Altmeyer, Paige Dimler, and Jenna Sniffen all had multi-hit games.
Starting pitcher Devyn Netz hit her 14th home run of the season in the fourth. The three-run shot gave Arizona the 10-1 lead, setting the Wildcats up for the run rule.
Netz picked up her 16th win of the season in the circle. She threw three innings, giving up one earned run on one hit. The hit was a home run in the bottom of the second.
Saya Swain came in to finish the game. She pitched two innings. She didn’t give up a baserunner. She struck out three of the six batters she faced.
Arizona returns home to take on No. 14 Texas Tech next week. The Raiders lead the Big 12 standings.
