One of the last remaining players from the Kevin Sumlin era is setting off on a pro career back in his homeland.
Tight end Roberto Miranda has signed to play for the Stuttgart Surge of the European League of Football. The ELF is a 16-team pro league with franchises in 10 countries including five in Germany, where Miranda is from.
Miranda spent five seasons at Arizona, appearing in 35 games including all 12 in 2024, playing mostly special teams during his career. A blocking tight end, he had one catch for no yards in 2023.
A 3-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, Miranda signed with Arizona ahead of the COVID-shortened 2020 season, picking the Wildcats over offers from Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Michigan and Georgia Tech.
Miranda was one of two remaining players from that 2020 class, with defensive back Treydan Stukes set to play his sixth season for Arizona this fall.
Arizona still has six tight ends on the roster for 2025, including transfer Cameron Barmore and incoming freshman Kellan Ford.
