The greatest receiver in Arizona history has begun his quest to be one of the best professional football players produced by the Wildcats.
Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, where he is considered a lock to be a first-round pick and possibly the first wideout taken in April.
The 6-foot-5, 212-pound McMillan leaves the UA as the most prolific receiver in school history, collecting 3,423 yards in three seasons. That currently ranks 93rd in FBS history and is 72 more than Bobby Wade had with Arizona from 1999-2002.
McMillan led the Big 12 with 1,319 yards this season, catching 84 passes and scoring eight touchdowns. His final year got off to a bang with a school-record 304 yards and four TDs in the opener against New Mexico.
Pro Football Focus has McMillan ranked No. 2 on its 2025 NFL Draft Big Board, behind only Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, though in its most recent mock draft it has him going 5th overall to the Carolina Panthers. Tankathon has McMillan going 6th to the Tennessee Titans and ESPN has him going 8th.
The highest draft pick in UA history is linebacker Ricky Hunley, who went 7th in 1984, while linebacker Chris Singleton went 8th in 1990.
A 4-star prospect out of Servite High School in Anaheim, Calif., the same school from where Arizona signed quarterback Noah Fifita, tight end Keyan Burnett and linebacker Jacob Manu, McMillan was the crown jewel of the Wildcats’ landmark 2022 recruiting class. He was the highest-rated recruit in school history, flipping from Oregon in Dec. 2021.
McMillan is the second UA player to declare for the draft, following offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea. Junior cornerback Tacario Davis is also expected to apply for early entry to the draft.
