Caleb Love had a Sweet 16 game to forget for Arizona on Thursday night.
The North Carolina transfer finished with only 13 points and two rebounds in 35 minutes. He only shot 5-of-18 from the floor and missed all nine of his three-point attempts.
Had he made a few more shots, Arizona could’ve won and advanced to the Elite Eight. Instead, he was cold from the floor and Clemson ended up advancing.
This performance led to college basketball fans crushing Love on social media.
“Arizona’s Caleb Love was 5-18 from the field, 0-9 from 3 with one assist and three turnovers tonight,” one tweet read.
“‘I didn’t understand what Caleb Love was doing’ perfectly describes Caleb Love’s defense here,” another tweet read.
“Caleb Love shot 5/24 and 5/18 in the biggest games of his life,” another fan tweeted.
“What Caleb Love did tonight is exactly what I thought he’d do against Dayton,” another fan tweeted.
Had Arizona won, it could’ve set up an Elite Eight matchup against UNC, Love’s former team. Instead, it’ll be Clemson awaiting the winner of the Alabama-UNC game on Saturday.
You can watch the rest of the Alabama-UNC game on CBS.
