The Tucson-to-Seattle exodus may finally be complete
There was a pretty good chance Tacario Davis had played his last game with Arizona when he started in the Territorial Cup in November, since some NFL mock drafts had him going as high as the first round.
Instead, Davis decided he needed another year of college football before turning pro. And he’s decided the best place for that is with the coach that recruited him out of high school.
Davis has committed to Washington for his senior year, the latest ex-Wildcat to end up in Seattle alongside former Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch.

he 6-foot-4, 190-pound Davis started 23 games for the UA, including the last 22, and appeared in 31 games in three seasons. This past fall he had 44 tackles, two for loss, with six pass breakups; five of those PBU came in Arizona’s upset win at then-No. 10 Utah to open Big 12 play, earning Davis the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week award.
Davis has 76 tackles and 22 pass breakups in his career but just one interception, a statistic that likely influenced his decision to return to college for 2025.
After bringing over 10 players from Arizona in the wake of his sudden departure for Washington last January, Fisch this offseason has added Davis as well as linebacker Jacob Manu and defensive lineman Ta’ita’i Uiagalelei from the Wildcats.
The loss of Davis, along with running back Rayshon ‘Speedy’ Luke, who recently committed to Fresno State, leaves only four players from Arizona’s landmark 2022 recruiting class: quarterback Noah Fififta, offensive lineman Grayson Stovall, defensive lineman Isaiah Johnson and edge rusher Sterling Lane II.
