And then there were two.
Former Arizona guard Lauryn Swann has decided where she will play next year. Home won out. Swann will don a Rutgers uniform and continue her career closer to her family in Queens, NY.

“She’s from New York, so she’s not close to home,” former head coach Adia Barnes said on her radio show on Jan. 7, 2025. “She’s very, very close…to her mom. So she gets homesick a lot. I think it’s better now, but that was a struggle for the first little bit of time. Wouldn’t you say so?”
“Yeah,” Swann replied, then happily added, “She’s coming tomorrow to the game [against Baylor].”
Swann’s mom will get to go to a lot more of her games now.
Swann was Arizona’s second-best 3-point shooter by percentage last season. Her 39.1 percent accuracy (50 or 128) was behind Katarina Knežević at .500 (13 of 26). Swann was also second in 3-point attempts behind Jada Williams’ 161.
Swann appeared in 31 of Arizona’s 33 games with five starts. She averaged 8.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists against 1.1 turnovers, and 0.6 steals in 20.3 minutes per game. She shot 39.5 percent from the field and 72 percent from the line.
As for her new home, the Scarlet Knights are looking to make a turnaround. They finished 13-20 overall and 3-15 in the Big Ten last year. Their season ended in the quarterfinals of the WNIT. New Arizona head coach Becky Burke and her Buffalo Bulls dismissed Rutgers to claim victory in their only game against a Power 4 team during the 2024-25 season.
Arizona had seven enter the transfer portal immediately after the season and three more joined following Barnes’ move to SMU. Swann’s commitment leaves only forwards Knežević and Jorynn Ross unsure about where they will play their next season. Three followed Barnes to Dallas, and five of the remaining seven have picked new teams.
Knežević may be close to an announcement, as well. Talia Goodman of on3.com reported that the Serbian sharpshooter is being pursued by BYU.
