Seth Doege isn’t just bringing in a new offense to Arizona, he’s assembling an entirely different set of offensive players. Since his hiring was announced on Dec. 13 the Wildcats have added 14 players for that side of the ball, nine at the skill positions.
That includes former Portland State running back Quincy Craig, who announced his commitment to the UA on Thursday.
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Craig comes to Arizona with two seasons of eligibility after spending three years with the Vikings. He appeared in 21 games, starting 11 including nine in 2024. And though he’s listed as a running back Craig did much more than that for the FCS school.
In addition to rushing for 602 yards and five touchdowns, Craig had 34 receptions for 314 yards and five scores and also threw for 28 yards. Throw in kick and punt return yardage and he was over 1,000 for the season, and in his career he’s accounted for 2,208 all-purpose yards and 18 TDs.
A 3-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class from California who played at Mater Dei High School, Craig had offers from ASU, Montana State and Utah State before picking Portland State.
Craig is the third running back Arizona has added from the portal, along with former Texas State rusher Ismail Mahdi and ex-Utah running back Mike Mitchell. They will join returners Kedrick Reescano and Kayden Luke and incoming freshman Wesley Yarbrough in the backfield behind quarterback Noah Fifita.
Arizona’s NCAA transfer portal count sits at 23, the same number of high school and junior college players it has added so far in its 2025 recruiting class. With a new limit of 105 players starting in the fall, nearly half the roster will be in its first year with the Wildcats.
