That’s 19!
After a brief break for the holidays, Arizona got back to the business of rebuilding its roster by hosting a slew of potential transfers last weekend. The first of that lot has confirmed the Wildcats are who he wants to play for in 2025.
The UA has landed a commitment from ex-West Virginia cornerback Ayden Garnes, the 19th transfer pickup overall and ninth on defense.

!he 6-foot, 175-pound Garnes has one season of eligibility left after playing three at Duquesne (including a redshirt year) and one at West Virginia. This past fall with the Mountaineers he appeared in six games, starting five, and recorded 25 tackles with one for loss. He missed the final seven games due to injury.
In those six games, Garnes allowed catches on 15 of 28 targets (53.6 percent) with no touchdowns.
Garnes, who also started 19 games at Duquesne, is the third cornerback Arizona has added from the transfer portal, a position where it saw all three players who started in 2024 at that position go into the portal.
