Changing schools isn’t new to Jada Williams nor is the world of NIL. Whatever her reasons, she will continue the path she set in high school by transferring from Arizona women’s basketball after her sophomore season.

Williams came to Arizona with her move across the country in high school for NIL being what she was most known for. She committed to UCLA early in her high school career, then she flipped to the Wildcats. At Arizona, her leadership and tough play were her calling cards, but it was obvious that it was not going to last beyond this year.
Williams opted not to play with her team in the WBIT. After Arizona’s opening round loss, head coach Adia Barnes said that she would no longer turn away from portal players in order to keep playing time for freshmen because “they transfer anyway.” The message was clear.
Williams was on the 2024 Pac-12 All-Freshman team. She played in 63 games with 58 starts for Arizona over her two years, averaging 11.0 points. 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game. She shot 36.2 percent from the field and 27.9 percent from 3-point range. She averaged 2.6 assists per game and a 1.07 assist-to-turnover ratio.
It is likely that a few other Wildcats will follow Williams in the coming hours and days.
