If there’s one person who has been dependable for the past five years, it’s fifth-year pin Jaelyn Hodge. Hodge overtook the all-time records in both sets and matches played for Arizona volleyball in the Wildcats’ last two matches.

Hodge has appeared in 493 sets across 137 matches in her five years at Arizona.
The previous leader in matches played was Laura Larsen (2013-16). She appeared in 136 matches. Hodge surpassed her in the match against Kansas State on Wednesday evening.
Penina Snuka (2013-16) played 489 sets during her Arizona career. Hodge moved past her into first place during the Wildcats’ match at BYU on Nov. 2.
Hodge has been a starter in almost every match since she arrived on campus as part of the No. 7 recruiting class in 2020. The No. 20 recruit according to PrepVolleyball.com was the 2019 Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year.
Hodge has ranked between first and third on the team in kills per set each of her four previous seasons. She has also consistently been one of the team’s top blockers.
She switched from outside hitter to opposite this year. She had resisted the change in previous years, but it has paid off for her this season. Her 3.88 kills per set are fourth in the Big 12 and first on the team. She has 3.98 k/s in league play, ranking fifth in the conference.
She’s good for 4.52 points per set in Big 12 competition. That ranks fifth in the league.
Hodge and her team next host No. 8 Kansas on Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. MST. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
