One loss doesn’t end a season, but it has impacted Arizona’s futures odds.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Arizona is +2100 to win the Big 12 after losing 31-7 at Kansas State last week, down from +1600 before the season began. That’s despite the game not being part of the conference schedule.
Utah, whom Arizona opens Big 12 play at on Sept. 28, is considered the betting favorite at +290 while Kansas State is +360. UCF, another team the Wildcats face on the road this season, is third at +600.
The Wildcats are +2000 to make the College Football Playoff, which is tied for 37th-best among FBS schools, and the odds to win the national title have jumped to +60000. That’s $600 on a $1 bet, if you’re feeling frisky.
The UA’s win total is still at 7.5, an indication that Vegas expected Arizona to lose to K-State and the margin of the loss didn’t change that.
As for Heisman odds, FanDuel has quarterback Noah Fifita at +6000 and receiver Tetairoa McMillan at +10000. Kansas State QB Avery Johnson has the best odds of a Big 12 player, at +2500.
