The Arizona men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams rounded out the 2024 calendar year with a dominant sweep over BYU this past week.
The Arizona men defeated BYU 240-107 and took first place in every event. The women beat the Cougars 217-131.
Arizona long distance swimmer Mason Nyboer swept the men’s 500 and 1,650 free. In the latter he secured an NCAA “B” Cut with a time of 15:20.73.
Ralph Daleiden took first in the men’s 100 and 200 freestyle events and was a member of the winning 400 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay teams.
Kayman Neal helped lead the women with first place finishes in the 200 back and 200 free.
The Arizona women are back in action Jan. 3 when they host NAU. The Wildcats men next compete Jan. 10 when they host Harvard.
Men’s and women’s tennis
The Arizona men’s and women’s tennis programs announced their 2025 spring schedules.
The Arizona men open the spring by hosting NMSU for a doubleheader on Jan. 14. The team will then travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to take on Georgia State and Florida State on Jan. 18-19.
The Arizona men will host the ITA Kickoff Weekend for a second consecutive season as part of 13 home matches. Arizona will welcome UCF, and USC and Oklahoma State on Jan. 25-26. The winner qualify for ITA’s National Indoor Championships, slated to take place Feb. 14-17.
Other non-conferences matches of note include hosting Pepperdine on Feb. 9 and traveling to face Michigan State on March 13.
Big 12 play begins March 16 at UCF and concludes April 12 with a match at ASU. The full men’s schedule can be found here.
The Arizona women begin the spring by hosting LMU and UC San Diego on Jan. 17.
Arizona will compete at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Malibu, playing Pepperdine on Jan. 24 and either Georgia Tech or Florida State on Jan. 25.
Arizona then travels to Houston to take on Rice on Jan. 31 and San Diego on Feb. 1.
Arizona has home matches in February against Pepperdine, Texas Tech, UC Santa Barbara, Colorado State and Buffalo.
The UA begins conference play Feb. 27 when it hosts BYU and concludes Big 12 play April 13 at Texas Tech. Nine Big 12 opponents are ranked in the ITA top 75.
