NHL Predictions
Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers
Head-to-Head: Bruins 0-2 Panthers
Time: 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: Sportsnet; ABC
We open NHL predictions with the Boston Bruins taking on the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. Boston is expected to go with Jeremy Swayman in between the pipes. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Bruins are struggling mightily with six straight losses and are 3-6-1 in the last 10 games. David Pastrnak is first in goals (17), assists (25) and points (42) for Boston.
Sergei Bobrovsky is the confirmed starter for Florida, which is 6-4 in the last 10 games. The Panthers have posted 10 goals in two games so far against the Bruins. Aleksander Barkov is first in assists with 25. However, Sam Reinhart is tops in goals (23) and points (47) so far for Florida.
Boston can’t seem to get out of its own way and Florida seemingly has its number.
Prediction: Panthers win 5-3.
Edmonton Oilers vs Chicago Blackhawks
Head-to-Head: Oilers 0-1 Blackhawks
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: SN West; Chicago Sports Network; ESPN+
The second game of NHL predictions has the Edmonton Oilers visiting the Chicago Blackhawks. Calvin Pickard is the likely starter for Edmonton, which is 7-2-1 in the last 10 games. However, the Oilers are coming off a loss the last time out. Leon Draisaitl has 31 goals and 61 points to lead the team in both categories.
Arvid Soderblom is the projected starter for the Blackhawks, who played the night before against the Detroit Red Wings. Chicago did get a 5-2 victory over Edmonton in the first meeting between the clubs. Connor Bedard is leading the team in both assists (27) and points (38).
Edmonton is looking to bounce back and should do so against Chicago.
Prediction: Oilers win 4-2.
Vancouver Canucks vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: Sportnset; CBC; ESPN+
Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Canucks trying to snap a four-game losing streak. Kevin Lankinen is the expected starter for Vancouver, which is 2-4-4 in the last 10 games coming into this one. Things seem to be bad for the Canucks and matching up against the Maple Leafs won’t be easy. Quinn Hughes has been a bright spot with eight goals and 37 assists for the Canucks.
Joseph Woll is expected to get the call in goal for Toronto, which is 6-4 in the last 10 games. However, the Leafs are coming off a loss in their last game. Former team captain John Tavares has been hot as of late with five goals and six assists over the last 10 games.
This is a chance for the Canucks to bounce back, but they’ve looked disjointed as of late. Teams like the Leafs will punish clubs for mistakes.
Prediction: Maple Leafs win 4-3.
Prop Bets of the Night
We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets. Let’s go to the featured game for tonight’s selections. On the Canucks side, go with Elias Pettersson to score at any point at +300. For the Leafs, take Mitch Marner to have a multi-point night at +148. Both of these odds are courtesy of FanDuel.
