Good morning, people! With game-time already fast approaching, I’ve barely had time to even have a cup of coffee this morning. And let’s not discuss the current pants situation, shall we? Yes, it’s morning baseball, with a getaway day game on the East Coast. I’m glad this is not a regular thing. Afternoons are okay: that helps break up the work day nicely. But this is just a little too early for my tastes. Still, the D-backs have a chance to go for their first sweeep of the season. They had a chance to do so in New York, but were unable to seal the deal, dropping the series finale against the Yankees 9-7. We’ll see if the D-backs can do better today.
Last year, they did not acquire their first sweep until May 9th, when they completed a trio of victories in Cincinnati [and it is far too early in the morning for me to be trying to remember how to spell Cincinnati!] So getting one under their belt today would be a step ahead. They’ll be doing so with their most consistent starter on the mound, Eduardo Rodriguez. He began with a Game Score of 52 in the opening series against the Cubs. He then followed that up with a Game Score of 52 in Washington (12 K’s but also four earned runs in five innings). And then, against the Brewers, he had a Game Score of… Yes, 52. Can’t be often a pitcher has had three consecutive GS which were identical!
Ok, this is going to have to do for now. After all, that bed isn’t going to make itself…
