We wrote about Tawa as a roster dark-horse in January, and less than three months later, here he is in the big leagues. It’s unfortunate that it took an injury to last year’s MVP to give him the chance, but you can’t exactly turn the opportunity down, can you! There’s still no word on how long Marte might be out for, and it’s going to be interesting to see how playing time gets split between Tawa and Hampson, both of whom are right-handed hitters. Today, it’s right into the starting line-up for Tim at second-base. We’ll see if he also gets time at other positions. The Reno Aces season is barely a week old, and he has already started for them at first, left and right field spots.
