Pfaadt has been a bit shaky this spring. He has allowed ten hits and two walks across 6.1 innings, with a 5.68 ERA. It’s not quite what we were hoping for, Brandon staking a claim to a rotation spot. Obviously, six innings is barely a blip. But it’s definitely not been the dominating performances we’ve seen from Corbin Burnes and Eduardo Rodriguez. While the questions remain about Jordan Montgomery, the fifth spot will remain undecided. I’d rather see Pfaadt win the position, rather than Montgomery losing it. Also, interesting to see Jordan Lawlar playing third again. Is he being prepped for a utility infielder spot? Or is it going to precede time in Reno? We shall see.
