Imagine if he’d had a decent first half last year?
On June 13th last year, 69 games into the D-backs’ season, Eugenio Suárez was batting .195 with a .576 OPS, and was in serious danger of losing his spot on the roster. So it’s quite remarkable that he turned around his season to the point where, going into 2025, he’s now expected to be one of the better third-basemen in baseball. For Suárez ranked 10th on MLB Now’s Top 10 Third Basemen Right Now last night. The All-Star, who was last seen on the countdown in the same spot in 2021, finished one spot behind the Houston Astros’ Isaac Paredes. Team-mates Corbin Burnes and Gabriel Moreno have previously been ranked at starting pitcher and catcher in the series.
On Suárez, MLB Network analyst and 13-year MLB third baseman Mike Lowell said, “He’s a guy that is reliable, you could depend upon him day in, day out, and I think the Diamondbacks are pretty excited to have this guy.”

Next up will be second base, at 5 pm Arizona time tonight, and so I’m pretty sure we will be getting another one of these tomorrow…
