Pfaadt didn’t survive the 3rd inning and the Giants had almost as many home runs (5) as the Dbacks had hits (6). You can connect the dots.
+ or – 5 on how many times Torey is going to say the word flush in the post game presser? If there was ever a game this team is going to have to flush, it has to be this one. The Dbacks literally did nothing well in this game.
The pitching was terrible. Pfaadt actually had a pretty sharp first inning. but gave up a solo homer in the 2nd and Carroll saved his bacon robbing a 3 run home run. By the third inning things had completely unraveled and Torey pulled him.
Walston was given the task of long relief and he also stumbled giving up 3 more home runs. Yilber Diaz and Brandon Hughes followed and were able to at least tread water but the damage had been done.
Offensively, this team was flat. Things got off on the right foot with Carroll and Ketel getting on base in the first, but the inning was quickly killed when Joc hit into a double play and Walker grounded out harmlessly. The rest of the game was much of the same with lack of execution at bat after at bat.
It’s time for Gallen to step up tomorrow as this team could really use a solid outing on the mound. While we are making requests they could also use a lot of things I guess….
Torey only said flush it 3 times in his post game so I lose as well.
Feel free to vent in the comments as I don’t really have anything else to say. This game was bad enough to experience in real time, no need to experience it again in this recap.
