He’s not earning his $70 million this post-season
Shohei Ohtani may be a shoe-in for the NL MVP award, in the first year of “that” contract with the Dodgers. But his post-season performance has been less impressive. Seven games in, he is hitting only (6-for-32), with an OPS of .677. It’s far from his regular season numbers: .310/.390/.646 for a 1.036 OPS. After hitting a home-run in his second ever playoff AB, he has gone six games without a homer. The last time that happened was in May. The Dodgers have been scoring – 44 runs across seven games to date – but Ohtani has not been helping much, with only two RBI since the home-run. Hopefully this won’t be a reverse jinx, and the Mets will take a series lead in their first home Championship Series game since 2015…
