Mets? More like Mutts, amIrite?
We are still looking at a Dodgers-Yankees World Series being the most likely outcome. But the inability of D-backs’ reject Luke Weaver to get the third out in the ninth, has kept the Guardians hopes alive. If they can win again tonight, it will become a best of three series, and then anything can happen. The Mets, on the other hand, looked largely outclassed last night. Again. They have been outscored 30-9 so far. If they lose today, they will have the worst Championship Series run differential since at least 1996, when St Louis lost by 26 runs to Atlanta. Weirdly, that series went the full seven games, but included a 14-0 and, in Game 7, a 15-0 drubbing. Even a win feels like putting off the inevitable, but you never know…
