Or all the way to Game Seven?
It’s funny we joked darkly about “World Series starter Joe Mantiply,” and we may potentially see something as unexpected from the Dodgers. Here we are in a crucial Game Six – I’m sure Los Angeles do not want to go to a decider – and they are sending up… Michael Kopech, in his first start ever as a Dodger. Clearly, $1.4 billion of off-season spending, does not get you the starting rotation it used to. But that’s been the way of this postseason. So far, there have been 74 starts. Only nine have recorded an out past the sixth, with the median length just 4.2 innings. But then, the last complete playoff game? Over seven years ago, Justin Verlander in the 2017 ALCS.
