Y’all have fun with this.
I’m going to be over here watching scary movies instead. I’ll post reviews of some of my favorites, since I’ve no interest in analyzing this series. Oscar Wilde once described fox-hunting as “the unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable.” That’s pretty much how I feel about the World Series, which is the closest baseball can come to true horror…

The Thing (1982)
Rating: A+
Dir: John Carpenter
Star: Kurt Russell, A. Wilford Brimley, T. K. Carter, David Clennon
While it did eventually recover its production costs, it was also eviscerated by many critics at the time, notably Vincent Canby of The New York Times, who called it, “A foolish, depressing, overproduced movie… Too phony looking to be disgusting. It qualifies only as instant junk.” Time has been much kinder to the film, and it regularly makes “greatest ever” lists in a variety of fields, mostly sci-fi and horror – though you could certainly argue it’s among the greatest remakes of all-time too, regardless of genre. What it is, is an undeniable counter-argument to those who claim that real horror is what lurks in the shadows.
