Pitch to Ohtani with Bases Empty
Ohtani is becoming something of a machine at the plate with runners in scoring position, going 16 for 19 with RISP, dating back to the closing games of the season. Since the start of what is his first career postseason, Ohtani is 4-for-5 with a homer and a pair of walks with runners in scoring position and 6-for-8 with a homer and three walks with runners on base. But he’s 0-for-19 with 10 strikeouts when the bases are empty.
