Diamondbacks Face Dilemma Over Including Lawlar on Opening Day Roster
Jordan Lawlar is the organization’s #1 prospect. He is performing well in spring, forcing management to consider him as an option for the Opening Day roster. An additional consideration for management is that Lawlar and the team would qualify for full bonuses if he were on the Opening Day roster and made a push for Rookie of the Year. The problem with all this is, the team has newly extended Geraldo Perdomo ensconced at short, Ketel Marte holding down second, and the far superior third baseman in Eugenio Suarez at the hot corner.
