The big blow in this game came in the fifth inning when Brandon Pfaadt surrendered a three-run shot to Corey Seager. Pfaadt bounced back and finished seven strong innings, but Arizona’s offense was unable to overcome the modest deficit.

Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo has made encouraging progress in his rehab from right meniscus surgery. Manager Torey Lovullo told reporters, including Theo Mackie of the Arizona Republic, that they’re planning to get Perdomo into live games “very, very shortly”. He would start at the complex league, then go on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno.
