(SI.com) D-backs’ Jordan Montgomery’s Throwing Program Delayed by Injury
Presuming this is a minor setback, Montgomery will go about the business of trying to earn a rotation spot. He doesn’t view it that way however. He believes his spot is secure. Asked if he felt like he was in a competition for a roster spot he gave a surprising answer.
“Probably not… I mean, that’s what I’m here for. They’re paying me a lot of money.” Montgomery opted to pick up his player option for $22.5 million for the 2025 season.

Pitchers and catchers officially reported to spring training on Wednesday, and while Opening Day isn’t until March 27, the clock has started for Diamondbacks relievers to compete for positioning.
“We’re very active trying to add to that area of our team,” Hazen told Arizona Sports’ Bickley & Marotta. “I know (manager Torey Lovullo) wants to go in with a closer. He’s always wanted to have a closer. We’ve gone into years when we’ve had a closer. We’ve gone into years where we’ve kind of had to piece it together.”

(SI.com) Eduardo Rodriguez is Prioritizing Health for a Successful 2025 Campaign
Now, looking for a rebound the Rodriguez is set to begin his 10th big league season, and is ready to dominate for the D-backs. “I just feel the same way as every year. Just go out there and compete and do what I know I can do” he told Diamondbacks ON SI’s Jack Sommers.
“It feels great to be back and be here and to start getting ready for the season. The goal is to stay healthy the whole spring training, and go out there and compete this season.” While Rodriguez was able to come back late in 2024, it took time for him to dial in his abilities.
(SI.com) D-backs Announce Dbacks.TV Deal for 2025
Mid-way through the 2023 season, MLB took over television broadcasts for the Arizona Diamondbacks as a result of then-Bally Sports Network dropping their coverage of the team. Ahead of the 2024 season, the D-backs stuck with MLB in terms of them distributing the team’s games.
That arrangement will continue in 2025 as the D-backs are set to play on a local channel, on Dbacks.TV, and other channels. Dbacks.TV is the home for fans set in Arizona aside from any national games.

(ABC 7) Pokémon GO to collaborate with MLB for select 2025 home games
Pokémon GO developer Niantic and Major League Baseball have announced a collaboration for all players of the mobile game who plan on attending some games throughout the 2025 season.
As a result of this partnership, all of the league’s ballparks will feature club-branded Gyms and PokéStops accessible from the entire stadium. This will allow spectators to join a Raid or battle for supremacy from the comforts of their seat while they enjoy the game below. Ballparks will also feature official Routes to follow, bringing fans to corners they may not yet have seen.
