(CBS Sports) Marlins prospect records incredible stat line that features six stolen bases without recording a hit
Miami Marlins prospect Emaarion Boyd pulled off a stunning feat on Wednesday night when he stole six bases for the High-A Deloit Sky Carp in their 10-0 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels. To make it even more stunning, Boyd didn’t even record a hit.
Boyd spent most of the game burning up the base paths after getting on base in a variety of ways. He reached on a walk, a hit by pitch and a fielder’s choice. He stole second and third each time he got on.
(Yahoo! Sports) Why is Shohei Ohtani’s pitching comeback taking so long?
The general expectation around DodgerLand right now is that an Ohtani pitching comeback before the end of June looks unlikely. A return around the All-Star break in mid-July would put Ohtani’s total rehab time at about 22 months, significantly longer than the typical Tommy John recovery. Compare that to fellow Dodger Tony Gonsolin, who underwent Tommy John just 19 days before Ohtani. Gonsolin, currently on the IL due to a back problem, made his first minor-league rehab start on Sept. 10, one year and nine days after surgery.
